It conforms to ASTM A312 TP310S (seamless and welded pipe), ASTM A213 TP310S (tube), ASTM A249 (welded tube), and ASME SA312, with equivalent designations EN 1.4845JIS SUS310S, and DIN 1.4845. This heat resistant stainless steel pipe offers excellent oxidation resistance, thermal stability, and creep strength for continuous operation up to 1100°C (2010°F).


Key properties of 310S stainless steel pipe:

  • Excellent oxidation resistance – high chromium (24‑26%) and nickel (19‑22%) content forms a stable protective scale, resisting spalling under thermal cycling

  • High temperature service – suitable for continuous use up to 1100°C and intermittent use up to 1050°C

  • Scaling resistant stainless steel – minimizes metal loss in combustion atmospheres, furnace gases, and flue gas

Note: 310S is the preferred material for furnace radiant tubes, heat treatment muffle tubes, and petrochemical heater tubes. It is not recommended for severe chloride or acid service (use 316L or duplex).

Applications

1. Industrial Furnaces & Radiant Tubes

  • 310S stainless steel pipe for furnaces – radiant tubes, combustion chambers, and heat exchanger tubing in annealing, carburizing, and bright annealing furnaces. Excellent oxidation resistance prevents scaling and metal loss, extending tube life significantly compared to 304 or 316.

  • 310S stainless steel pipe for radiant tubes – U‑type, W‑type, and straight radiant tubes for gas‑fired and electrically heated industrial furnaces. Thermal shock resistance withstands rapid startup and shutdown cycles.
