Introduction

Hastelloy G-30 Alloy (UNS N06030 / Alloy G-30 / W.Nr. 2.4603) is a nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum-copper alloy with the highest chromium content among the G‑series alloys. This high chromium nickel alloy provides exceptional resistance to oxidizing acids such as nitric and phosphoric acid, while its molybdenum and copper content extends protection into the reducing regime.

This corrosion resistant nickel alloy is widely used in commercial phosphoric acid service (wet process P₂O₅), sulfuric acid, nitric acid, and complex mixed acid environments including nitric/hydrochloric, nitric/hydrofluoric, and sulfuric acid mixtures. The alloy resists the formation of grain boundary precipitates in the heat‑affected zone, making it suitable for most chemical process applications in the as‑welded condition.
