Introduction
UNS R30188 trade name is GH188, GH5188 superalloy (Haynes 188 equivalent) is a cobalt‑nickel‑chromium‑tungsten alloy designed for high temperature strength up to 1100°C. GH5188 round bar, sheet, plate, strip, wire, welding wire, seamless tube, and forging are widely used in aero engine combustion chambers, afterburner parts, flame holders, transition ducts, turbine casings, and rocket nozzles. This cobalt‑based superalloy offers excellent oxidation resistance up to 1150°C, good creep resistance, and superior thermal fatigue performance. Compared to nickel‑based alloys, GH5188 cobalt alloy provides better high‑temperature strength and sulfidation resistance. Available per GB/T 14992 or AMS 5801 for gas turbine and industrial furnace applications.

Advantages
(1)High temperature strength up to 1100°C: GH5188 round bar and forging maintain excellent tensile and creep strength at extreme temperatures, outperforming many nickel‑based superalloys.
(2)Excellent oxidation resistance up to 1150°C: GH5188 sheet and plate resist oxidation and thermal fatigue in aero engine combustion chambers and afterburner flame holders.

Applications
(1)Aero engine combustion chambers – GH5188 sheet and strip are used for combustion chamber liners, flame holders, and afterburner parts operating above 1000°C.
(2)Gas turbine transition ducts and casings – GH5188 round bar and forging serve in turbine casings, transition ducts, and support rings requiring high strength and oxidation resistance.
(3)Rocket nozzles – GH5188 seamless tube and plate withstand extreme thermal gradients and high‑velocity exhaust gases in rocket engine nozzles.
