Introduction
Incoloy A‑286 Nickel Alloy (UNS S66286) is a precipitation‑hardenable stainless steel that retains high strength up to 700°C, exceeding conventional austenitic stainless steel like Type 304. This A‑286 superalloy contains higher nickel content and precipitates the γ' phase [Ni₃(Al,Ti)] during service, resulting in a reinforced metal at elevated temperatures. As an A‑286 precipitation hardening alloy and nickel iron chromium alloy A‑286, it is widely used in aerospace, fasteners, and gas turbine parts where high strength and creep resistance are required.

Advantages
(1)Exceptional high‑temperature strength up to 700°C: As an A‑286 superalloy and nickel iron chromium alloy A‑286, it retains significant mechanical strength and creep resistance at temperatures up to 700°C, exceeding conventional austenitic stainless steel like Type 304. The precipitation of γ' phase [Ni₃(Al,Ti)] during service reinforces the metal at elevated temperatures.
(2)Excellent age‑hardenable properties: This A‑286 precipitation hardening alloy responds well to heat treatment, achieving high tensile and yield strength while maintaining good ductility. It is a true age hardenable alloy that can be readily formed into complex shapes without cracking.
(3)Good corrosion resistance: This A‑286 corrosion resistant alloy offers superior resistance to oxidation, scaling, and stress corrosion cracking compared to standard stainless steels, especially in chloride‑containing and high‑temperature service conditions. It is also NACE MR0175 compliant for sour gas service.
Applications
(1)Aerospace industry – Widely used in jet engine parts, turbine blades, casings, afterburner components, and high‑temperature fasteners. This UNS S66286 nickel alloy is a trusted A‑286 alloy for aerospace where both high strength and creep resistance are critical.
(2)Oil and gas sector – Applied in downhole equipment, subsea components, valves, and fasteners requiring both high strength and corrosion resistance. As an INCOLOY A‑286 material compliant with NACE MR0175, it performs reliably in sour gas environments.
(3)Industrial gas turbines and chemical processing – Ideal for gas turbine discs, shafts, rings, and other rotating parts. In chemical processing, it is specified for valves, pumps, and fittings where INCOLOY A‑286 fastener alloy or general INCOLOY A‑286 high temperature alloy is needed to withstand aggressive media and elevated temperatures.
