Product details

Product Introduction

When engineers search for Alloy 28 Superalloy, they are usually not looking for a general stainless steel grade. They need a material that can maintain long-term corrosion resistance in highly aggressive chemical environments where conventional stainless steels cannot provide sufficient service life.

As a high alloy stainless steel and super austenitic stainless steel, Alloy 28 combines high chromium, molybdenum and nickel content to provide excellent resistance against sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, chloride-containing media and organic acids. Compared with standard austenitic stainless steels, UNS N08028 Alloy offers improved resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking, making it suitable for demanding chemical processing applications.

Mono Group supplies Alloy 28 Pipe, Alloy 28 Plate, Alloy 28 Sheet, Alloy 28 Tube and Alloy 28 Bar with customized dimensions and international specifications for industrial applications requiring reliable corrosion performance.

Key Properties of Alloy 28

1. Sulfuric Acid and Chemical Corrosion Resistance

One of the main reasons engineers choose Alloy 28 for sulfuric acid service is its ability to resist corrosion across a wide range of sulfuric acid concentrations.

The combination of chromium, molybdenum and nickel provides:

  • Sulfuric Acid Resistant Alloy performance

  • Phosphoric Acid Resistant Alloy capability

  • Organic Acid Resistant Alloy characteristics

  • Strong resistance to localized corrosion

This makes UNS N08028 material suitable for chemical equipment exposed to mixed acidic environments.

2. Chloride Corrosion Resistance

Many chemical processing systems contain chloride ions that can cause rapid localized corrosion in ordinary stainless steels.

Alloy 28 provides enhanced resistance against:

  • Pitting corrosion

  • Crevice corrosion

  • Chloride stress corrosion cracking

For this reason, Alloy 28 Corrosion Resistant Alloy is frequently considered for marine environments, chemical plants and pollution control systems.

3. Mechanical Stability and Fabrication Performance

Besides corrosion resistance, Alloy 28 offers good fabrication characteristics.

Typical advantages include:

  • Excellent weldability

  • Good formability

  • Stable mechanical properties after fabrication

  • Suitable performance for welded equipment manufacturing

This allows Alloy 28 Pipe and Plate to be fabricated into pressure equipment, heat exchangers and chemical processing components.
