Introduction

Inconel 625 Pipe (also Inconel Alloy 625 PipeAlloy 625 PipeNickel Alloy 625 PipeUNS N06625 PipeHigh Performance Nickel Alloy Pipe) is a nickel‑chromium‑molybdenum‑niobium alloy offering outstanding corrosion resistance, high strength, and excellent fabricability. It conforms to ASTM B444 (seamless pipe/tube), ASTM B705 (welded pipe), and ASTM B704 (welded tube), as well as ASME SB444 and SB705. This high strength corrosion resistant pipe is designated UNS N06625 and W.Nr. 2.4856, widely used in offshore, subsea, oil & gas, and marine environments where both strength and corrosion resistance are critical. This marine grade nickel alloy pipe is available in seamless (ASTM B444) and welded (ASTM B705) forms, cold drawnhot finishedpickled, or polished. We offer custom sizes, cut to length, large diameter, and thin wall options, with Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 schedules. Our product range includes Inconel 625 seamless pipewelded pipetubelarge diameter pipecustom size, and cut to length pipe.

Applications

1. Offshore Platforms & Subsea Equipment

  • For topside structural plates, riser clamp components, and subsea manifold skids in deepwater production, Inconel 625 plate for offshore provides exceptional seawater corrosion resistance and high strength in splash zone and submerged conditions. The seawater resistant alloy eliminates the need for coatings or cathodic protection in many marine applications.

  • For sour gas service per NACE MR0175, ASTM B443 plate is specified for wellhead equipment, compact flanges, and clamp hubs where H₂S and chlorides are present.

2. Chemical Processing & Pressure Vessels

  • For ASME‑coded pressure vessels, reactor shells, and distillation column sections in aggressive acid service, Inconel 625 plate for pressure vessel combines high tensile strength (827 MPa min) with excellent resistance to sulfuric, hydrochloric, and phosphoric acids.

  • For heat exchanger tube sheets, baffle plates, and channel covers, Alloy 625 plate provides high thermal conductivity with outstanding resistance to localized attack at tube‑to‑tubesheet joints.

  • For spray bars, bubble caps, and chimney liners in chemical plants, hot rolled Inconel 625 plate delivers durability in high‑temperature corrosive environments.

3. Marine Engineering & FGD Systems

  • For marine engineering applications including seawater pump bases, propeller blade repair plates, and ballast tank bulkheads, Inconel 625 plate for marine engineering offers virtual immunity to chloride‑induced pitting and crevice corrosion.

  • For FGD absorber tower internals, quench nozzles, and mist eliminator plates in flue gas desulfurization systems, ASTM B443 Inconel 625 plate withstands low‑pH, high‑chloride scrubber environments.

4. Aerospace & Power Generation

  • For aerospace components requiring reliability under extreme temperatures and stresses, Inconel 625 plate for aerospace maintains strength from cryogenic temperatures up to 1800°F (980°C).

  • For power generation equipment including gas turbine casing plates and waste incineration plant liners, Alloy 625 sheet offers excellent oxidation resistance and thermal stability at elevated temperatures.

5. General Fabrication & Heavy Equipment

  • For custom fabricated vessels, hoppers, chutes, and ductwork requiring both strength and corrosion resistance, Inconel 625 plate provides good weldability and fabricability with matching filler metal (ERNiCrMo‑3).

  • For heavy industrial equipment including furnace hardware, heat shields, and furnace liners, Nickel Alloy 625 plate offers stability during welding with scaling and oxidation resistance.

FAQ – Inconel 625 Plate

Q: What is the difference between Grade I and Grade II in ASTM B443?

A: Grade I (Annealed) is the standard condition for Inconel 625 plate with tensile strength of 120 ksi (827 MPa) and yield strength of 60 ksi (414 MPa). It is the default delivery condition. Grade II (Solution Annealed) offers lower strength (100 ksi tensile, 40 ksi yield) but provides better creep properties at elevated temperatures. Specify Grade II for service above 1100°F.

Q: What thickness range is available for Inconel 625 plate?

A: Inconel 625 plate is available from thin sheet (0.005″ / 0.13mm) up to heavy plate thicknesses exceeding 4″ (100mm). Hot rolled plate is typically 3/16″ (4.8mm) and over; cold rolled plate ranges from 3/16″ to 3/8″ (4.8–9.5mm). Custom thicknesses available upon request.

Q: What are the key ASTM standards for Inconel 625 plate?

A: ASTM B443 is the primary specification for Inconel 625 plate, sheet, and stripASME SB443 is the ASME equivalent for pressure vessel applications. AMS 5599 covers sheet, strip, and plate for aerospace applications. AMS 5869 also applies to the same product forms.

Q: Can Inconel 625 plate be welded without post-weld heat treatment?

A: Yes. Inconel 625 plate can be welded using TIG, MIG, and other standard processes. The nickel‑chromium‑molybdenum‑columbium alloy maintains its corrosion resistance and mechanical properties in the as‑welded condition, and post‑weld heat treatment is generally not required for most applications.
