Introduction

Alloy N06985 – also known as 1.4529 or Hastelloy G3 – is an advanced nickel-based high-temperature alloy designed for exceptional performance under extreme chemical and temperature conditions. This material was developed to address special needs in corrosive environments, particularly in chemical, petrochemical, and offshore engineering. Hastelloy alloy G3 seamless pipe and welded tube are widely used in flue gas desulfurization and heat exchangers, while Hastelloy alloy G3 round bar, strip, sheet, plate, wire, forgings, fittings, and flanges are also available for various reactor and pressure vessel components. The alloy offers excellent resistance to sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, and chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking. Typical specifications include ASTM B622 seamless pipe and ASTM B626 welded tube.
